Israel\/Palestinian territories <\/strong>– Demolition orders issued by Israeli authorities for Bedouin buildings (March 5, 2017)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

France is concerned by the demolition orders issued by Israeli authorities for nearly 150 buildings in the Bedouin community of Khan al-Ahmar (located in the so-called E1 zone, between East Jerusalem and the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim). This area is of strategic importance to the two-state solution and the contiguity of a future Palestinian state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These demolition orders pose an imminent threat to an already extremely vulnerable Palestinian community. EU heads of mission visited the Palestinian Authority on February 28 to show their support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Amid a sharp acceleration in settlement-building and demolitions in the Palestinian Territories, France reiterates its commitment to the two-state solution reaffirmed by UN Security Council resolution <\/span>2334<\/a>, the only way to fulfill the legitimate aspirations of both parties.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
