These courses are helping to build\u00a0health workers\u2019\u00a0skills\u00a0and knowledge to support critical care of COVID-19 patients.\u00a0\u200b<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>15,200\u00a0Palestinians are in quarantine (home or facility-based) to prevent further spread of the disease<\/li>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip,\u202f147\u00a0people are in one of\u00a0three\u00a0quarantine facilities which include health\u00a0facilities,\u202fhotels\u00a0and other designated buildings<\/li>\n<li>WHO is supporting the\u00a0MoH\u00a0to train 60 junior doctors and 200 nurses on intensive care\u00a0treatment protocols\u00a0to enhance\u00a0capacity to manage critical\u00a0patients. This, in turn, has increased the pressure on those with mental health disorders, such as psychosis and depression, and increased demand on psychotropic drugs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In response, WHO with the support of the Government of Canada, has\u00a0delivered essential psychotropic drugs to treat 3,000 people in the Gaza Strip suffering from mental, neurological and substance use disorders for six months.
