With most cases linked to community transmission.<\/li>\n<li>Three hundred and seventy-six have died in the oPt, with an overall case\u00a0fatality rate\u00a0(CFR) of 0.67%<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0MoH\u00a0announced on 28 September that the recovery rate has increased to 80.3 per cent and recorded the highest number of recovery cases \u2013 1,665 cases \u2013 since the beginning of the pandemic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>Laboratory diagnostics\u00a0\u00a0\u200b<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout two-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/who.createsend1.com\/t\/j-l-actkud-l-j\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/i6.createsend1.com\/ei\/j\/16\/594\/FFC\/013013\/csfinal\/ukaiddelivery-f2962c89a1208b21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div><em>As part of its support to scale-up the COVID-19 testing capacity in the Gaza Strip, WHO procured and delivered to the Gaza local health authorities laboratory testing supplies to enable up to 16,000 COVID-19 tests.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><em>Thanks to UK Aid\u00a0\u200bfor its generous support.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A total of\u00a0416,569\u00a0laboratory samples have been tested for COVID-19 according to the\u202fMoH<\/li>\n<li>In both the Gaza Strip and\u00a0the\u00a0West Bank,\u00a0WHO has delivered\u00a0laboratory\u00a0supplies, testing kits and reagents to\u00a0conduct\u00a0up to 30,000 COVID-19 tests.\u00a0These new supplies will allow testing to continue and scale-up efforts to contain the spread of the virus. WHO submitted 139 patient permit applications and 153 companion applications during the\u00a0month.\u00a0Read more about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/who.createsend1.com\/t\/j-l-actkud-l-d\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WHO\u2019s temporary coordination mechanism<\/a><\/li>\n<li>In August, while West Bank referrals continued at levels\u00a0similar to\u00a0those prior to COVID-19, referrals for patients from the Gaza Strip remained less than half the number they were prior to April 2020<\/li>\n<li>Recorded permit approvals for Gaza patients were approximately 10% of the monthly approvals prior to the COVID-19 outbreak in the oPt, while little data has been available for West Bank permit approvals since the end to coordination between the Palestinian Authority and Israeli authorities in May 2020.
