We must\u00a0also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0masks\u00a0covers\u00a0our\u00a0nose, mouth and chin<\/li>\n<li>Keep physical distance<\/li>\n<li>Clean hands<\/li>\n<li>Keep away from big crowds<\/li>\n<li>Cover mouth and nose when coughing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3><strong>WHO preparedness, readiness and response<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>WHO is continuing to work with partners to support Ministry of Health\u2019s (MoH) efforts to respond to the COVID-19 situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>Coordination,\u202fplanning\u202fand monitoring<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Following the activation of the logistics cluster\u00a0by\u00a0the humanitarian\u00a0coordinator,\u00a0WFP, WHO\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0humanitarian\u00a0\u00a0partners continue efforts to address the clearance of humanitarian\u00a0shipments;\u00a0coordination of\u00a0access\u00a0for\u00a0medical referral patients from the Gaza Strip to\u00a0essential services outside\u00a0remains a concern,\u00a0following the suspension of bilateral agreements and coordination in\u00a0response to Israel\u2019s threatened annexation of parts of the occupied West\u00a0Bank<\/li>\n<li>On August 5,\u00a0the\u00a0PA slightly eased restrictions\u00a0following\u00a0Eid al-Adha, allowing cafes, restaurants and sports clubs to open at 50% capacity; but weekend lockdowns remain, from 21:00 Thursday &#8211; Sunday mornings,\u00a0with movement\u00a0allowed from 07:00 \u2013 12:00 midnight\u00a0on other days. The ban on weddings, funerals and closures of function halls and large gatherings continues, as does the closure of affected areas,\u00a0villages and camps within cities<\/li>\n<li>Upon the request of\u00a0the Humanitarian Coordinator,\u00a0an inter-cluster needs assessment\u00a0of\u00a0governmental isolation\u00a0centres\u00a0is planned. The objective is to assess the equipment and supply needs of these\u00a0centres\u00a0and what priority support the UN and clusters\u00a0will\u00a0mobilize.\u00a0Consultative meetings\u00a0with respective stakeholders\u00a0are foreseen, complemented\u00a0by\u00a0potential site visits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>Surveillance<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The WHO risk assessment remains very high for the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt)<\/li>\n<li>The number of people testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 continues to\u00a0rise<\/li>\n<li>The total number of cases is\u202f17,434\u00a0including\u00a017,356\u00a0cases\u00a0in the West Bank\u00a0and\u202f78\u202fin the Gaza Strip<\/li>\n<li>Since 1\u00a0August\u00a0(to\u00a06 August\u00a0as of 14:00) the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) has averaged\u00a0367\u00a0cases per day, with\u00a02,206\u00a0new cases and seven\u00a0fatalities<\/li>\n<li>Most cases recorded are from Hebron (8,636), East Jerusalem (4,036),\u00a0Jerusalem (1,383), Ramallah (970),\u00a0Bethlehem (708),\u00a0Nablus (581),\u00a0Qalqilya (225), Jenin (197) and Tulkarm (126).\u00a0Only two\u00a0governorates (Salfit\u00a0and\u00a0Tubas) continue to record low case numbers.\u00a0A total of\u00a0215\u00a0health workers are among those confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>12\u00a0patients are in a serious condition (ICU), with two\u00a0requiring mechanical ventilation (as of\u00a06\u00a0August, 14:00)<\/li>\n<li>To-date, the\u00a0Ministry of\u00a0Health (MoH) reported a total of\u00a08,417\u00a0cases have recovered:\u00a08,347\u00a0in\u00a0the West Bank (including 1,510\u00a0in East Jerusalem)\u00a0and\u00a070\u00a0in Gaza.\u00a0Ninety-two\u00a0people\u00a0have died,\u00a0with\u00a0an\u00a0overall case fatality rate (CFR) of 0.53%<\/li>\n<li>Less than half (45%) of all confirmed cases are male (6,045\u00a0cases) and about\u00a057.5% of all cases (10,033\u202fcases) are below the age of 50 years in the oPt, excluding East Jerusalem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>Laboratory diagnostics <\/strong>\u200b<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A total of 207,726 laboratory samples have been tested for COVID-19 according to the\u202fMoH, with 14,101 samples tested in the Gaza Strip.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div><strong>Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Isolation and Case Management, Operations Support and Logistics\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>17,693\u00a0Palestinians are in quarantine (home or facility-based) to prevent further spread of the disease<\/li>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip,\u202f257\u00a0people are in one of\u00a0three\u00a0quarantine facilities which include health\u00a0facilities,\u202fhotels or other designated buildings<\/li>\n<li>WHO supported\u00a0MoH\u00a0assessment teams in conducting a review of essential practices, equipment and environment within\u00a0MoH\u00a0maternity and neonatal units, with a specific component on infection prevention and control measures\u00a0in light of\u00a0the COVID-19\u00a0pandemic.\u00a0A final report with results and hospital plans will be available mid-August.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>East Jerusalem<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>As of August 5, there are 35 cases of COVID-19 cases in the East Jerusalem hospitals:\u00a07 cases in Al-Makassed\u00a0Hospital, 28 cases in St Joseph Hospital and no cases at Augusta Victoria Hospital\u00a0(AVH).
