Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 My second question is that Israel’s defence minister said, a little while ago, that annexation of the West Bank will wait, citing the COVID\u201119 pandemic.\u00a0 Does the Secretary\u2011General have any comment on that?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 Look, the comment that we have is basically what the Secretary\u2011General has already said, is speaking very clearly against any annexation and against any unilateral move.\u00a0 We are, obviously, in touch with all the parties.\u00a0 Mr.\u00a0[Nickolay] Mladenov is on top of the situation, but our position is unchanged.\u00a0 Abdelhamid, go ahead.<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Thank you, St\u00e9phane.\u00a0 It’s a follow\u2011up to Edith’s question.\u00a0 Mr.\u00a0Mladenov has been shuttling between Ramallah and Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and in contact with people in Gaza.\u00a0 So, can you update us on his activity? \u00a0What is he trying to achieve at this very last moment before the annexation supposedly starts on 1\u00a0July?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 Anything we could do to avoid the annexation, obviously, would be a positive step.\u00a0 He’s also clearly working, as he said and as the Secretary\u2011General said, on moving in the right direction, which we’d hope would also involve a meeting of the Quartet with\u2026 including the\u2026 obviously, the two parties but also the neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n
