SUBCOMMITTEE ON UNSCOP TO MEET IN PRIVATE AS WORKING GROUP<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

The Chairman, Mr. Ksawery Pruszynski (Poland) called the Sub-Committee to order at 11:20 A.M.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Sub-Committee felt that further time was needed to reach agreement on the date of termination of the Mandate aa well as on the length and nature of the transitional period which la to precede the granting of Independence to the pro-rposed Arab and Jewish States.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

After discussion and amendment of a tentative plan of work submitted by Mr. Herschell Johnson (U.S.A.), the Sub-Committee decided to meet in private this afternoon at 3 p.m. as a Working Group of the whole, and to deal with such aspects of the UNSCOP Majority Flan as Economic Union; Public Assets movable and immovable Admission to Membership in the United Nationa^ Declaration concerning Holy Places Religious and Minority Rights, Citizenship, International Conventiona and Financial Obligations, on which there already exists a wide area of agreement among Members of the Sub-Committe'e.                                               .<\/p><\/div>\n
