EIGHT UNRWA TRAINEES KILLED IN LEBANON<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>VIENNA, 7 June (UNRWA) — Eight people were killed on Saturday, 5 June when a rocket hit a bus run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) south of Beirut.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Seven of the victims were women trainee teachers from UNRWA's Training Centre at Siblin, and the eighth was an instructor.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Hostilities in southern Lebanon interrupted ration distribution at Sidon, UNRWA officials reported. They have taken heavy UNRWA vehicles off the road to conserve fuel stocks, which cannot at present be replenished because of local shortage.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The UNRWA provides education, health and relief services to about 226,000 registered Palestine refugees in Lebanon.<\/p><\/div>\n
