Air violations of the Blue Line Continue –<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

PRSG reiterates call for halt to overflights<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Beirut, 24 October 2001 (UN Information Centre) <\/strong>– On 22 October 9 air violations, involving 10 Israeli aircraft and one drone, and on 23 October a further 5 air violations, involving 14 Israeli aircraft took place across the Blue Line and into Lebanese airspace- The latter included a violation in which a total of seven aircraft were involved.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Sonic booms were also heard in southern Lebanon on 23 October.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The PRSG, calls Mr. Staffan de Mistura, reiterates that such actions are unhelpful in avoiding the deterioration of an already tense situation.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The PRSG calls once again upon all concerned parties to refrain from further violations and to fully respect the Blue Line.<\/p><\/div>\n
