Turning to the question of the Middle East, he said that all parties, especially the Israeli Government, must seize the current opportunity for peace in the region.  Establishment of an independent Palestinian state would be a pillar of a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East.  Arab-Israeli security requirements on both sides of the border were also of prime importance.<\/p><\/div>\n
