1. Procedure to be adopted with regard to the Commission’s relations with the Press<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The CHAIRMAN wished to impress on the members of the Commission who had doubtless noted the articles appearing in the Press following on the oral information given by the Secretariat to journalists on the subject of the <\/span>Israeli Government’s reply<\/a>, the desirability of establishing the principle that all future statements, however brief, which the Commission might make to the Press should take the form of a written communiqué so as to preclude any incorrect interpretations by the Press of any oral statements made on the Commission’s behalf.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Following a brief exchange of opinions by the members of the Commission, It was so decided<\/i>.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2. Preparation of the note to be addressed to the Arab States and the Israeli Government<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The CHAIRMAN stated that several drafts had been made of the note to be sent to the Arab States and the Israeli Government. Those drafts had just been circulated to the members, whom he invited to examine them and submit their observations and suggestions.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

He felt, however, that before the draft notes were discussed within the Commission itself an informal exchange of views by the members might be useful. He accordingly proposed that the meeting rise in order to give members that opportunity.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

It was so decided.<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n
