The following communication, concerning statements of policy regarding the continuance in service of employees of the Palestine Administration, has been received from Mr. Fletcher-Cooke of the United Kingdom Delegation.<\/p><\/div>\n

My dear Bunche,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

You will remember that you asked me the other day at Lake Success whether I could give you any indication of the action taken in Palestine on the various statements issued by the Commission as regards the re-employment of Palestinian staff.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

I have received a telegram from Jerusalem informing me that the texts of various announcements made in Jerusalem are being sent to me by air and will forward copies to you as soon as I receive them. In particular, reference is made to an announcement based on the communication which was enclosed in <\/span>Federspiel’s letter<\/a> to me of 26th February.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

The telegram adds that although it is too early as yet for an accurate assessment of the response to the Commission’s first appeal, which was issued in Jerusalem on the basis of the requests made in your official letter of 9th February to Sir Alexander Cadogan, it may be presumed that no Arab officer will in fact serve with any successor authority.<\/p><\/div>\n
