of a mosque in Al-Mughayyir, West Bank<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The spokesperson of Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission, issued the following statement today:<\/p><\/div>\n

"The EU strongly condemns the burning and vandalism of a mosque in Al-Mughayyir yesterday.<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The respect of freedom of worship is an essential value.<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The EU takes note of the condemnation of the Israeli government and calls on the authorities to<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

investigate this attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

These provocations undermine efforts to promote a comprehensive peace in the region. The EU will continue to focus all its efforts on achieving a peaceful and negotiated resolution to the Israel Palestinian conflict."<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n
