Completion of the project for Reconstruction of
\nClassrooms in Beita Mixed School, Funded by Japan<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Today, November 20<\/span>th<\/sup><\/span>,2016, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, Ambassador for the Palestinian Affairs and Representative of Japan to the PA, visited Beita in Nablus Governorate to celebrate the completion of the project funded by the Government of Japan through Japan's <\/span>Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

The grant of US $90,576 extended to Beita Municipality. It was used to reconstruct three old classrooms in the ground floor of Beita Mixed School in Beita in order to secure the safety and adequate educational environment for the students. The direct beneficiaries shall be about 80 students.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In his speech, Mr. Okubo emphasized Japan's firm commitment of supporting Palestinian people from human security perspective as well as the importance of implementing social and economic development projects needed for Palestinian communities.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Since 1993 the Government of Japan has extended its official development assistance to approximately US$1.7 billion, to the Palestinians. GGP projects have been formulated in collaboration with the Palestinian Authority through Ministry of Finance and Planning since 2010. (END)<\/p><\/div>\n
