OIC Secretary General Welcomes Signing of Reconciliation Agreement Between Fatah and Hamas<\/strong><\/span>

Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference welcomed the signing, under the sponsorship of Egypt, of the national reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\nThe Secretary General expressed his congratulations to the Palestinian people on this achievement and reaffirmed the OIC’s continued readiness to contribute to any steps likely to consolidate the Palestinian national unity. He further noted that the Palestinian reconciliation constituted a pressing need for the preservation of the Palestinian people’s unity in the face of the challenges, for the recovery of the legitimate Palestinian people’s rights, and for the establishment of the Independent Palestinian State with its capital Al-Quds Al-sharif.<\/p><\/div>\n
