The Presidency of the European Union calls upon the Israeli Government to clarify a reported statement by one of its Ministers to the effect that Israel intends to expand its settlements in the occupied area of the Golan Heights.<\/p><\/div>\n

The expansion of Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights would work against the achievement of a comprehensive peace settlement in the region and this would not serve the long term security interests of the Israeli people.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
