Press Statement by the EU Representative Ralph TARRAF on the EU assistance to the Palestinian Authority <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The rumours about the suspension of EU funding to the Palestinians Authority are baseless. The EU is confident that the funds it provides for salaries and social payments reach their beneficiaries in full; thanks to a robust and regular system of checks and controls in place since 2008. There has been no reason recently to launch an extraordinary investigation into EU funding to the PA. <\/p><\/div>\n

Last week, the EU announced the first package of its assistance to the Palestinian people in 2016. This package includes €170.5 million Euros to support the Palestinian Authority in delivering health and education services, protecting the poorest families and providing financial assistance to the hospitals in East Jerusalem. <\/p><\/div>\n
