Secretary General Meets with Belgium's FM (24-2-2005)<\/strong><\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Secretary General Amre Moussa of the Arab League of States received FM Karel De Gucht of Belgium. Following the meeting, Moussa said "I have investigated the key issues in the region in view of Europe's role and the concern Belgium lays to them with the Belgium official. We have also tackled the Arab-Israeli conflict and the meeting held few days ago between the USA and EU. The minister has told me that president Bush had been clear in stressing the influential contribution of his administration to resolving the Middle East issues, with focus to the Palestinian cause." <\/p><\/div>\n

In the same context, Secretary General Moussa has pointed out the importance of maintaining hope that would be supported by specific factual measures taken by all parties on the ground along with following up the stances concerning a factual and just settlement in the Middle East." <\/p><\/div>\n

Moussa also said the meeting has tackled other issues such as the situation in Darfur. <\/p><\/div>\n

"We are dealing with the situation in view of Al Taif accords.
