spoke to Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), spoke yesterday to Israel's Prime Minister Sharon to warmly congratulate him on the outcome of the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The High Representative confirmed the European Union's full support for Prime Minister Sharon in his efforts to engage in dialogue with the Palestinian Authority. Expectations are high and opportunities to make a difference are now existing.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The High Representative encouraged Israel's Prime Minister to maintain his efforts to work together with President Mahmoud Abbas and to implement their respective commitments made in Egypt on 8 February.<\/p><\/div>\n
