The vast majority of this was a contribution to the World Bank by Kuwait towards a multi-donor trust fund in support of Palestinians.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\/&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:center;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>Consolidated Appeals Process (CAP)<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:center;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) CAP<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">At the end of 2007, the humanitarian community predicted a continued degradation of the humanitarian situation in the oPt during 2008, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where the intensified closure since mid-June 2007 has had a devastating impact on the lives of civilians. On 10 December 2007, they launched an Appeal for $462,121,404, the majority of which was for the food sector.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">This Appeal features greater participation of local and international NGOs and Palestinian Authority Ministry staff, compared to the 2007 CAP. So far, the 2008 oPt CAP is funded at 64% overall, but resources are unevenly allocated across the sectors. Whereas the Coordination and Support Services are 115% funded, the Water and Sanitation sector has been given only 16% of the requested amount.
