Palestinian Elections Reflects Palestinian Democratic Orientation, Says Secretary General (10-1-2005)<\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\nHailing the Palestinian elections conducted yesterday, Secretary General Amre Moussa of the Arab League described them as concrete proof of the Palestinian people's democratic orientation. Moussa said he addressed a cable of congratulation to Mr. Mahmoud Abbass over his winning. \n<\/p><\/div>\n

In a press release following his return from Nairobi, Moussa said the way the Palestinian elections were conducted has proven that the Palestinian people enjoys institutions capable of running a democratic process at the highest level. He named the Palestinian democracy as the ultimate winner of the elections. \n<\/p><\/div>\n

On the other hand, Moussa slammed the Israeli behavior in holding back the elections in Jerusalem. He further confirmed that the international observers wouldn't have missed to notice such serious practices by the Israeli authorities which manifested to the entire world Israel's sole goal to grip the occupied city in violation of the rules of international legitimacy ignoring the Palestinian democratic march in contradiction to the Israeli officials' allegations. \n<\/p><\/div>\n

Secretary General Moussa pointed out that the Arab League would continue to work hard in order to restore the Palestinian rights at various levels within the framework of the constants and principals laid by the Arab summits, especially the Arab initiative issued by Beirut summit 2002. <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
