ON ISRAEL’S EXCAVATION WORKS ON THE HOLY AL-AQSA MOSQUE<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Malaysia condemns Israel for the excavation works around and beneath the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and for willfully destroying religious, cultural and heritage sites in Al-Quds.  This act of destruction by Israel is a direct aggression upon the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

We denounce this blatant act of provocation and the complete disregard for the sanctity of the Holy Mosque.  This act will ignite the feelings of Muslims all over the world and is in fact a retrogressive step in the efforts to achieve peace in the region.  These acts by Israel against religious, cultural and heritage sites in the Occupied Territories are direct violation of International Law. <\/p><\/div>\n

Malaysia demands an immediate stoppage to the excavation works carried out by Israel that have had direct impact on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.  As Chairman of the OIC we call upon the international community to intervene immediately in order to stop these illegal activities.<\/p><\/div>\n
