{"id":203945,"date":"2007-04-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T18:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/?p=203945"},"modified":"2019-03-12T18:40:44","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T18:40:44","slug":"auto-insert-203945","status":"publish","type":"document","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/auto-insert-203945\/","title":{"rendered":"UN-HABITAT launches Saudi-funded charity housing project in Hebron &#8211; UN-HABITAT press release"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\n<hr height=\"7px\" \/>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>UN-HABITAT launches Saudi-funded charity housing project in Palestine<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">Nairobi &#8211; The Saudi Committee for the Palestinian People Relief has disbursed US$ 6.3 million through UN-HABITAT to help provide housing and shelter for Palestinian widows and women living in poverty in the West Bank town of Al Khalil, also known as Hebron. <\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">The funding provided by the King Abdalla Bin Abed Al Aziz City for Charity Housing, was announced earlier this month at a ceremony with Al Khalil Governor, Mr. Areef Al-Jabari, Palestinian Member of Parliament Mrs. Sahar Al Qawasmeh, the Mayor of Al Khalil, Mustafa Al-Natsheh, and other dignitaries at the project site in the city. <\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">Work has started on the project, which will be executed by UN-HABITAT through its Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian People on land that donated by the Al Khalil municipality. <\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">The aim of the project is to improve the livelihood of the widowed and poor women in Al-Khalil through providing them with shelter.
