The homecoming of other IDRs is pending the establishment of new shelters.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>Health Response to the Humanitarian Crisis<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">National and international Health Cluster partners are providing support in four core areas:<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\n<table cellspacing=\"0\" background=\"#000000\" width=\"100%\" style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:initial;margin-right:auto;\">\n<tr>\n<td width=\"100%\" valign=\"top\" style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;border-color:#000000;border-style:solid;border-top-width:1px;border-bottom-width:1px;border-left-width:1px;border-right-width:1px;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>1. Assessment and monitoring<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\/&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong><u>Nahr El-Bared Crisis<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; According to UNRWA, no significant change in the incidence of common communicable diseases as reported by Nahr el-Bared, Beddawi, Mobile and Mina clinics. The disease trend in Nahr el-Bared camp is similar to that observed in Beddawi camp. The reported diseases included, psychological trauma, hypertensive crises, fractures, cut wounds, infected wounds, skin infections, upper respiratory tract infections, bronchial asthma, etc. So far, there were no reports on symptoms and signs related to sand fly disease among the returnees.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\/&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\n<table cellspacing=\"0\" background=\"#000000\" width=\"100%\" style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:initial;margin-right:auto;\">\n<tr>\n<td width=\"100%\" valign=\"top\" style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;border-color:#000000;border-style:solid;border-top-width:1px;border-bottom-width:1px;border-left-width:1px;border-right-width:1px;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>2. Health Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\/&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong><u>Nahr El-Bared Crisis<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; The nineteenth Health Cluster meeting was held on November 27 at UNRWA Lebanon Field Office in Beirut. The next meeting is scheduled for December 11 2007, same timing and venue.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; A Watsan cluster has been established in the North headed by UNRWA and attended by UN agencies and Non Governmental Organizations. Weekly meetings are taking place on Wednesdays at 12:30 at the Quality inn-Tripoli. Filling health gaps<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\/&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:9pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong><u>Nahr El-Bared Crisis<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; UNRWA health clinic in Nahr El Bared&#8216;s new camp is operating from two locations: the first in sector &#8220;A&#8221; for 7:30 until 9:30 followed by the second location in sector &#8220;C&#8221; until 16:00. Around 50 to 60 patients are consulting daily. A new venue for the clinic in sector C is being finalized.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; UNRWA Beddawi clinic double shifts until 20:30 continues with the exception of Saturdays and Sundays.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) clinics in sector &#8216;A&#8221; and &#8220;B&#8217; continue to provide specialized health services.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; M&#233;decins du Monde (MDM) started the establishment of a project on &#8220;Psychosocial care&#8221; that will cover both Beddawi and Naher El-Bared camps.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; UNRWA and International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC) efforts to restore the nine accessible water wells in Naher El-Bared adjacent areas are maintained. So far, each agency rehabilitated four wells.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; UNRWA and the Islamic Relief (IR) continue clearing and rehabilitation of sewers and storm water channels in the new camp in Naher El-Bared.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; UNRWA and IR distributed 236 rigid PVC water tanks of different sizes to all the sectors of the new camp in Naher El-Bared and plot 23.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">&#8226; UNRWA established a temporary electricity network based on five generators and connections to shelters in the new camp in naher el-Bared. An agreement between UNDP and EDL contractor funded by UNRWA will restore the electricity to sectors &quot;B&quot; and &quot;C&quot; as well as the remaining sectors at a later stage.
