{"id":202985,"date":"2006-09-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T18:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/?p=202985"},"modified":"2019-03-12T18:28:52","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T18:28:52","slug":"auto-insert-202985","status":"publish","type":"document","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/auto-insert-202985\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand supports relief efforts in Middle East &#8211; New Zealand Government press release\/Non-UN document"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\n<hr height=\"7px\" \/>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:15pt;font-family:Verdana, san-serif;\"><strong>NZ supports relief efforts in Middle East<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">Prime Minister Helen Clark today said that New Zealand is making a further $1.5 million contribution to humanitarian relief efforts in the Middle East. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Following the major donor conferences for Lebanon and the Gaza in Stockholm last week, New Zealand will be making contributions of $750 000 to each of the United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF) for water and sanitation work in South Lebanon; and to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) towards emergency health care in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT),&#8221; Helen Clark said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our funding is a demonstration of New Zealand&#8217;s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance when and where it is needed most. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;The recent conflict in Lebanon has caused enormous loss of life, destruction, and damage.
