congratulates Ehud Olmert on the election result in Israel<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Javier SOLANA, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), made the following comments on the outcome of yesterday's elections to the Knesset in Israel:<\/p><\/div>\n

"I have just spoken to acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and congratulated him on the result of the general election in Israel yesterday.<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

I encouraged Mr Olmert to pursue all efforts to move towards a peaceful, negotiated resolution of the Middle-East conflict. I assured him that the European Union stands ready, as always, to offer all its support in this process."<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n
