Grant Signing Ceremony for GGP Project in Palestine<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\nThe Project for Establishment of New Building for Jasmine Charitable Society Funded by Japan <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Today, November 02, 2015, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, Ambassador for the Palestinian Affairs and Representative of Japan to the PA, signed a Grant Contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)<\/strong> with Mr. Omar Amin, the Board Chairman of Jasmine Charitable Society for Children with Special Needs, at the Representative Office of Japan in Ramallah for a total amount of $90,448.<\/p><\/div>\n

Jasmine Society is undergoing a new building construction to increase its capacity and to provide better environment for children with disability. The GGP grant will be used to complete the first floor of the new building that will increase the number of children served and has improved facilities for people with disabilities. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Mr. Okubo congratulated the grantee and wished them success in their project. He emphasized Japan’s firm commitment of supporting Palestinian people from human security perspective as well as the importance of implementing social and economic development projects needed for Palestinian communities. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Since 1993, the Government of Japan has extended its official development assistance to approximately $1.6 billion, to the Palestinians. GGP projects have been formulated in collaboration with the Palestinian Authority through MoPAD since 2010. <\/p><\/div>\n
