Quartet Representative June 2014 visit<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Quartet Representative Tony Blair was in Jerusalem this week to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, and discuss recent developments.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Mr. Blair met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and condemned the kidnapping of the three Israeli teenagers, Eyal Yifrach, Naftali Frankel and Gil-ad Shaar. He also met with Justice Minister Tzipi Livni.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In Ramallah, he met Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Mustapha, as well as additional Palestinian figures.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

PM Hamdallah briefed the Quartet Representative on the latest Palestinian political developments, as well as the initial efforts to reintegrate the Palestinian Authority institutions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Hamdallah also raised the issue of the ongoing hunger strike by Palestinians held in administrative detention in Israel. Mr. Blair’s meeting with Deputy PM Mustafa focused on the continuing efforts to roll-out the<\/span> Initiative for the Palestinian Economy<\/u><\/strong><\/a>. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
