STRONGLY APPEALS FOR CALM, END TO VIOLENCE, AT CRITICAL JUNCTURE<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The following statement was issued on 20 March by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tThe Secretary-General, who is on the first day of his visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory, is deeply distressed and concerned by reports of the deaths of two Palestinian teenagers in the West Bank.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tHe repeats his condemnation of rocket fire from Gaza into Israel, which occurred again today.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tThe Secretary-General strongly appeals for calm and an end to violence, particularly at this critical juncture.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
