The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, welcomed the announced 72-hour humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip and called for its respect, hoping that it will be a prelude to a full and comprehensive halt of the Israeli military onslaught against the Palestinian people.<\/p><\/div>\n

Commending the unified Palestinian position, the Secretary General called for the need to lift the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and stressed the need to facilitate the urgent delivery of humanitarian and medical assistance. <\/p><\/div>\n
