Grant Signing Ceremony for Rehabilitation of the Water Network in
\nAl-Shawawrah Village<\/strong><\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

Funded by Japan<\/strong><\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

Grant Contract for one Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) was signed today by Mr. Takeshi Okubo, Ambassador for the Palestinian Affairs and Representative of Japan to the PA, and representative of Al-Shawawrah Village Council at the Representative Office of Japan in Ramallah for a total amount of US$ 80,498.<\/p><\/div>\n

Al-Shawawrah Village Council will use the funds to replace 2,450 meters of 2 inches water pipelines in Al-Shawawrah. This project aims at securing sufficient tap water supply for about 2,743 direct beneficiaries and two main schools of 490 students and teachers.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Mr. Okubo congratulated Al-Shawawrah Village Council and wished them success in their project. He emphasized Japan's firm commitment of supporting Palestinian people from human security perspective as well as the importance of implementing social and economic development projects needed for Palestinian communities.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Since 1993 the Government of Japan has extended its official development assistance amounting to approximately $1.7 billion, to the Palestinians. GGP projects have been formulated in collaboration with the Palestinian Authority through Ministry of Finance and Planning since 2010. (END)<\/p><\/div>\n
