Federal Foreign Office condemns Jerusalem attack<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

A spokesperson for the Federal Foreign Office issued the following statement in Berlin today (23 October), in response to the attack in which a car was driven into a crowd of people in Jerusalem yesterday:<\/p><\/div>\n

"We utterly condemn the brutal attack in Jerusalem which killed a three-month-old child and injured numerous others. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the little girl’s family, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery. Everything must now be done to ensure that the background to this dreadful crime is fully and swiftly investigated.<\/p>\n

We call on all sides to exert a calming influence and to avoid any further escalation in this tense situation."<\/p><\/div>\n
