The grants fall into the Fund&#8217;s Catalytic Grant category &#8212; one of two types of grants aimed to accelerate the efforts of initiatives on the ground.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;padding-top:8px;font-size:8pt;font-family:Verdana, san-serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">The Fund received 1,240 applications, out of which 543 were for the Catalytic Category. A technical committee of regional experts selected 27 proposals for grants ranging from US$100,000 to US$500,000.
