New York, 21\/9\/2006, (Communication & Information Division – Royal Hashemite Court) — His Majesty King Abdullah met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in New York today. Abbas briefed the King on the outcome of his visit to the United States, and his meeting with US President George Bush on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

King Abdullah expressed Jordan's full support for the Palestinian National Authority and its efforts to strengthen the internal front. He said Palestinian national unity is the only guarantee that Palestinian rights and aspirations can be achieved. <\/p>\n

The two leaders agreed on steps that will be taken by Jordan, the Arab countries as well as the Palestinian National Authority to push the peace process forward in the coming weeks and months. \n<\/p><\/div>\n
