On 23 December, Israel decided to reopen Sufa crossing for humanitarian and commercial commodities. Throughout the reporting period, Israel permitted the export of 24 truckloads of strawberries and carnations from Gaza through Kerem Shalom. Overall, a total of 862 truckloads, including 92 from humanitarian agencies, were allowed into Gaza between 12-25 December, compared to 950 truckloads in the previous reporting period. Erez crossing remains closed for all Palestinians except for those with special coordination arrangements with the Israeli District Civil Liaison.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>Changes of note since Report No. 54 (11 November):<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:20px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Rafah <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing has been generally closed for the movement of people for 185 days (last open 9 June).<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:20px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Karni <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing has been closed since 12 June for the movement of goods into and out of Gaza. One single-lane conveyor belt\/chute for wheat grain and animal feed was open on four days (12, 17, 18 and 24 December) for a total of 26 hours, compared to 36 hours in the previous period. A total of 244 truckloads of grains and animal feed entered Gaza, compared to 353 in the previous reporting period.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:20px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Sufa <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing was announced reopened on 23 December. Since then, a total of 171 truckloads, including 44 from humanitarian agencies, were allowed into Gaza.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:20px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Kerem Shalom <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing was open on 10 days for the entry of commercial and humanitarian goods, compared to 12 days during the previous reporting period. An equivalent of 447 truckloads, including 48 from humanitarian agencies, crossed into Gaza through Kerem Shalom, compared to 589 truckloads in the previous period.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:20px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Erez <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing remains closed since 12 June for all Palestinians, except for a limited number of Palestinian traders, aid workers and medical cases who have been granted special permits. Erez crossing was open 12 out of 14 scheduled days. An average of 1 trader per day crossed into Israel during this reporting period. The crossing has been closed since March 2006 for Palestinian workers.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;margin-left:20px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Obstacles to movement in the West Bank <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">increased from 561 in the previous reporting period to 563.
