The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Ameen Madani, welcomed the resolution adopted by the Spanish Parliament calling on the Spanish Government to recognize the State of Palestine. He underlined the importance of this historic stand which is in line with the recognition by the majority of the states of the world, of the State of Palestine with its fourth of June 1967 boarders and Al-Quds Asharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.<\/p><\/div>\n

He added that this stance contributes to the international efforts aimed at realizing just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution vision. He also expressed the hope that the Spanish Government will translate the above-mentioned resolution into recognition of the state of Palestine. At the same time, he called on other European states to recognize the State of Palestine in conformity with <\/span>UNGA resolution of 29\/11\/2012<\/a>.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
