AGENCY, ADDS TO AGENDA REQUESTS FROM TRIBUNALS FOR FORMER YUGOSLAVIA, RWANDA<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The General Assembly today decided to hold on 24 September 2009 a high-level meeting to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Mindful of the need to ensure the participation of Member States at the ministerial level, the Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution by which it would reschedule the meeting from its original date, 1 October 2009, to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the presence of Heads of State and Government and other high-level political officials that traditionally gather at Headquarters for its annual general debate, which this year opens on 23 September.<\/p><\/div>\n
