Israel – Approval of the construction of 69 new homes in the settlement of Har Homa (June 27, 2013)<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

France condemns the authorization granted by the Israeli municipality of Jerusalem of building permits for 69 new homes in the settlement of Har Homa.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

This decision is illegal under international law; it undermines trust and jeopardizes the prospect of finding a just and lasting solution to the conflict.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

France fully supports the efforts aimed at relaunching the negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians and again urges the parties to avoid any gesture likely to jeopardize these efforts. It would like these negotiations to resume as swiftly as possible, without any preconditions and on a credible basis.<\/p><\/div>\n
