Statement by Laila Freivalds on money to the Palestinian National Authority<\/p><\/div>\n

"Sweden is of the view that Israel must now pay the Palestinian National Authority the taxes and customs duties that it is withholding. The amount involved is USD 50 million. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has therefore called upon the Austrian presidency to put pressure on Israel.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

"This is money belonging to the Palestinians that Israel collects on their behalf and that must be transferred. It is not in anyone's interest that the Palestinian National Authority should collapse.
