Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation is contributing $90,000 for refugees affected by floods in Gaza<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation is making a $90,000 donation to assist Palestine refugees affected by the recent heavy flooding in Gaza. UNRWA welcomes this contribution which will help repair houses which have been heavily damaged by the floods. The efforts will concentrate on Jabalia where 41 houses will be rehabilitated.<\/p><\/div>\n

Expressing her appreciation, UNRWA’s Commissioner-General, Ms. Karen AbuZayd, said: “I wish all our donors would be as reactive as the Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation, especially in the context of an already deep impoverishment of the population and severe economic crisis, which has its roots in the blockade of Gaza. I thank the Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation and in particular HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal for his generosity towards the Palestine refugees.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation had previously financed the provision of fuel in Gaza at the beginning of 2008 when fuel was badly needed to ensure the continuation of basic public environmental health services, and in 2007, a training course for UNRWA doctors and nurses to improve public health in the Gaza Strip.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
