Official communiqué of the 4689th (closed) meeting of the Security Council<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Tuesday, 21 January 2003, at 3.15 p.m.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\t  “On 21 January 2003, the Security Council, pursuant to annex II, sections A and B of resolution <\/span>1353 (2001)<\/a>, held its 4689th meeting in private with the troop-contributing countries to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t  “The Security Council and the troop-contributing countries heard briefings under rule 39 of its provisional rules of procedure by Mr. Hédi Annabi, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations and Major General Lalit Mohan Tewari, Force Commander of UNIFIL.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t  “The members of the Council had a constructive exchange of views with representatives of participating troop-contributing countries.”\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
