VII. Human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

A. Interactive dialogue with special procedures <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

226. At the 25th meeting, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, Richard Falk, presented his report (<\/span>A\/HRC\/20\/32<\/a>). <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

227. At the same meeting, the representative of Palestine made a statement as the concerned party. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

228. During the ensuing interactive dialogue at the same meeting, the following made statements and asked the Special Rapporteur questions: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(a) Representatives of States Members of the Council: Bangladesh, Cuba, Indonesia, Jordan (on behalf of the Group of Arab States), Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Pakistan<\/span>25 <\/span>(on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation), Saudi Arabia; <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(b) Representatives of observer States: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Lebanon, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of); <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(c) Observer for an intergovernmental organization: European Union; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(d) Observers for the following non-governmental organizations: Badil Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, Defence for Children International, Israeli Committee against House Demolitions, Mouvement contre le racisme et pour l'amitié entre les peuples, North-South XXI, United Nations Watch. <\/p><\/div>\n

229. At the same meeting, the Special Rapporteur answered questions and made his concluding remarks. <\/p><\/div>\n

B. General debate on agenda item 7 <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

230. At the 25th meeting, on 2 July 2012, the Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights presented the reports prepared by the High Commissioner and the Secretary-General under agenda items 2 and 7 (<\/span>A\/HRC\/20\/3\/Rev.1<\/a>, <\/span>A\/HRC\/20\/13<\/a> and <\/span>A\/HRC\/20\/36<\/a>). <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

231. At the same meeting, the representative of Palestine made a statement as a concerned party, and the representative of Turkey made a statement as a concerned country. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

232. At the 26th meeting, on the same day, the representative of the Syrian Arab Republic made a statement as a concerned country. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

233. At the 25th and 26th meetings, the Council held a general debate on agenda item 7, during which the following made statements: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n
