Letter dated 26 February 1985 from the Permanent Representative<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Further to my letters of 21 and <\/span>25 February 1985 (<\/span>S\/16974<\/a> and <\/span>Add.1<\/a>),and on instructions from my Government, I have the honour to transmit to you a supplementary list containing information on the continuing abusive Israeli operations and practices in southern Lebanon, the western Bekaa and the Rashaya district as of 25 and 26 February 1985.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would have the text of this communication circulated as an official document of the General Assembly, under item 38 of the preliminary list, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n

Abusive Israeli operations and practices:<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

25 and 26 February 1985<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

–\t<\/span>After encircling them, the occupation forces stormed the villages of Harut and Jibshit and opened tire on the houses and in the streets; as a result, seven citizens were seriously wounded. They also opened tire on the government school in the village and on a private school, after surrounding them with large numbers of motorized troops. The forces in question withdrew from the village after detaining 15 citizens from Harut and tour from Jibshit and blowing up a number of houses.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

–\t<\/span>The occupation forces broke into the hospital at Jabal Amil and opened fire inside, terrifying the patients and causing them to rush in panic to the shelter. The Israelis attempted to break into the operating theatre, where a surgical procedure was being performed on a wounded person, but the doctors resisted them. They broke into the doctors' room and opened fire there.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

–\t<\/span>Storming of the village of Hazuriyah and destruction of two houses, the first by means of a bulldozer and the second with explosives; they then opened tire in the village in a random manner.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

–\t<\/span>Continued encirclement of Kamid al-Lawz, Qir'awn, Jib Jannin, Lala and Ba'lul; detention of seven secondary school pupils in Kamid al-Lawz, prohibition on movement there and shooting at everything that moved in the village.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

–\t<\/span>Erection of reinforced barricades at the AbbasLyah-Tura intersection, on the Malshuq-Burj al-Shamali road, at the entrance to Juwayya and at the entrance to Shihabiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n
