129. At the 14th meeting, on 20 March, the observer for the United Republic of Tanzania, on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of 77 and China, introduced a draft resolution (E\/CN.6\/1997\/L.7) entitled "Palestinian women".<\/p><\/div>\n

130. At the 15th meeting, on 21 March, the Commission adopted the draft resolution by a recorded vote of 38 to 1, with 3 abstentions (see chap. I, sect. A, draft resolution I).  The voting was as follows:<\/p><\/div>\n

131. Before the draft resolution was adopted, statements were made by the representative of the United States of America and the observer for Israel; after it was adopted, statements were made by the representatives of Lebanon, Norway and Costa Rica and the observer for the Syrian Arab Republic.  The observer for Palestine also made a statement.<\/p><\/div>\n
