In my capacity as Chairman of the Islamic Group at the United Nations, I have the honour to request the convening of an immediate meeting of the Security Council to examine the grave and deteriorating situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, resulting from the continuous escalation of repressive practices by Israel, the occupying Power, against the Palestinian people.<\/p><\/div>\n
