Letter <\/u>dated 8 September<\/u> 1972 from the Permanent Representative<\/u>
\n <\/u>of the Syrian Arab<\/u> Republic to the United Nations addressed <\/u>to<\/u> <\/u>the <\/u>Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

On instructions of my Government, I have the honour to set forth the facts concerning the latest act of aggression committed by Israel against the Syrian Arab Republic.<\/p>\n

On 8 September 1972, at 5 p.m. (local time), Israeli military aircraft formations bombarded the following villages and population centres located inside Syrian territory: the coastal region, El-Hama, El-Kafr, Sahm El-Golan and Mzerib; in so doing, they killed and wounded several civilian citizens, including one woman killed and a number of women and children wounded.<\/p>\n

In view of the extreme gravity of this situation resulting from this act of aggression, I should be grateful if you would have this letter circulated as an official document of the Security Council and the General Assembly.<\/p><\/div>\n
