\t<\/span>I have pleasure in enclosing an assessment of the work of the Security Council during the Tunisian presidency in February 2001 (see annex).<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>This assessment has been prepared under the responsibility of the Tunisian delegation, in accordance with the note by the President of the Security Council dated 12 June 1997 (S\/1997\/451). The members of the Security Council have been consulted on its content. It should, however, not be considered as representing the views of the Council. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would have this letter and its annex circulated as a document of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>On 2 February, the Council heard a communication from the Director of the Asia and Middle East Division of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations on the most recent developments in the blue line zone.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At consultations held on 16 February, the Council was briefed by the Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations on the incidents that had occurred in southern Lebanon.<\/p><\/div>\n
