\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government and further to our earlier letters concerning Israel's attacks on southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa and the arbitrary practices against the civilian inhabitants in which it engages on a daily basis, I have the honour to notify you of the series of such incidents that took place in March 1998.<\/p><\/div>\n

1 March 1998<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0300 hours the Lahad militia, Israel's client, proceeded to fire mortar shells at Wadi Bisri from Rum hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0350 hours Israeli forces strafed areas around their position on Dibbiyah hill with medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0725 hours an Israeli gunboat at sea off Bayadah fired bursts in different directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1130 hours the militia of the minion Lahad prevented the inhabitants of Tayyibah from crossing into the liberated areas by way of the Kafr Tibnit crossing.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1130 hours the militia of the minion Lahad strafed the area around Rum with medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1310 hours Israeli forces and the militia of the minion Lahad fired a number of shells.  They fell in areas along the Nab` al-Tasah.<\/p><\/div>\n

2 March 1998<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0015 hours the militia of the minion Lahad fired mortar shells from Dahr al-Mashnaqah.  They fell in Wadi Bisri.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1025 hours the militia of the minion Lahad directed bursts of fire at the Mu`aytah woodland from Dahr al-Mashnaqah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1050 hours an Israeli helicopter landed at Qal`at al-Shaqif (Chateau de Beaufort).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

3 March 1998<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1230 hours the militia of the minion Lahad and Israeli forces fired artillery shells and directed bursts of fire at Mazra`at Umqata, areas along the Nab` al-Tasah, Jabal Safi and outlying areas of Mlikh from their positions on Sujud hill and in Zafatah, Razlan and Ksarat al-Urush.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2055 hours the militia of the minion Lahad fired mortar shells at areas along the Litani River and outlying areas of Zawtar al-Gharbiyah from its position at Sal`ah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2345 hours hostile aircraft flew over the sea off Sarafand and outlying areas of Naqurah, Tayr Harfa and Bayadah.<\/p><\/div>\n

4 March 1998<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1020 hours Israeli warplanes overflew northern Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa and the South at high altitudes.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1050 hours elements under the minion Lahad erected a barrier on the main road at Rum and proceeded to search vehicles and to examine identity documents.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1320 hours the militia of the minion Lahad fired shells at Jabal Bi'r al-Dahr from its position in Ayn Qinya.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1400 hours hostile warplanes overflew the South at high altitudes.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1545 hours an Israeli helicopter strafed areas around the Israeli position on Dabshah hill with medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1720 and 2000 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the South, the Shuf and Asi at high altitudes.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1800 and 1900 hours two Israeli helicopters flew over Alman and Qal`at al-Shaqif (Chateau de Beaufort).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1930 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2040 hours the militia of the minion Lahad strafed areas around its position in Zimriya with medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

5 March 1998<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0045 hours an Israeli helicopter fired two air-to-surface missiles at outlying areas of Haddatha.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0100 hours Israeli forces fired artillery shells from their position at the entrance to Mays al-Jabal.  They fell in outlying areas of Haddatha.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0145 hours Israeli forces strafed areas around their position at Qal`at al-Shaqif (Chateau de Beaufort).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0445 hours an Israeli gunboat at sea off Mansuri fired shots in various directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0645 hours two helicopters strafed outlying areas of Haddatha with medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0725 hours Israeli forces fired artillery shells at outlying areas of Haddatha from Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0830 hours elements of the militia of the minion Lahad proceeded to strafe areas around the Zimriya crossing with light-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1010 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over the Nabatiyah area.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0700 hours the militia of the minion Lahad directed bursts of fire at Qasr Ghandur in Nabatiyah al-Fawqa from Ali al-Tahir hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0830 hours the militia of the minion Lahad directed bursts of fire at Jabal Bi'r al-Dahr from Zimriya hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0835 hours Israeli forces and the Lahad militia fired shells and directed bursts of fire at Nabatiyah al-Fawqa from their positions on Dabshah hill and Ali al-Tahir hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1900 hours shells fired by Israeli forces and the militia of the minion Lahad at the entrance to Mays al-Jabal and in Tallusah fell in outlying areas of Majdal Silm.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2045 hours Israeli forces fired shells from Ksarat al-Urush.  They fell in Wadi al-Sabbaghin.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0100 hours the Lahad militia directed several bursts of fire at the Mu`aytah woodland from Rum hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0350 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew Nabatiyah and Iqlim al-Tuffah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0525 hours the militia of the minion Lahad directed bursts of fire at Jabal Sujud.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At 0810 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the South and the Western Bekaa.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At 0950 hours the militia of the minion Lahad and Israeli forces strafed areas around Dabshah hill and Rum hill with light-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0700 hours Israeli forces fired a number of artillery shells from their position at Tall Ya`qub.  They fell in outlying areas of Yatar.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1215 hours Israeli forces fired a number of shells at outlying areas of Mansuri and Majdal Zun.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At 1340 hours Israeli forces and the militia of the minion Lahad fired artillery shells at Jabal al-Rafi`, Mazra`at Uqmata and Mazra`at al-Hamra from their positions in Zafatah and Ksarat al-Urush.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1350 hours Israeli forces fired shells from their position at the entrance to Mays al-Jabal.  They fell in outlying areas of Haris.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1730 hours the militia of the minion Lahad fired a number of shells at Wadi Bisri from its position on Rum hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1820 hours two Israeli helicopters overflew Jabal al-Rafi`, Dabshah hill and areas along the Litani River.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2130 hours Israeli forces and the Lahad militia fired artillery shells at outlying areas of Yatar and Sribbin from their positions at Tall Ya`qub and Ruways.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2210 hours the militia of the minion Lahad directed bursts of fire at areas along the Litani River and outlying areas of Kafr Rumman from Zafatah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

14 March 1998<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1130 hours Israeli forces and the militia under them fired several 120-mm and 81-mm mortar shells at Qal`at Mlita, Jabal al-Rafi` and Shumariyah and at outlying areas of Majdal Zun and Zibqin from their positions on Sujud hill and at Shuraytah, Qusayr and Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1255 hours Israeli forces directed a number of bursts of fire from 12.7-mm weapons at the area around Qasr Ghandur in Nabatiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At 1350 hours Israeli forces and the militias under them fired 155-mm artillery shells at Jabal al-Dahr from their positions in Ayn Qinya and Abu Qamhah.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1835 hours the Lahad militia fired four mortar shells at Wadi Bisri from its positions on Rum hill and Anan hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1500 hours Israeli forces fired seven 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Yatar and Majdal Zun from their position at Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government strongly condemns the continued Israeli occupation and the fresh attacks and arbitrary practices against the civilian Lebanese population that have left a number of wounded and caused further serious damage to property.<\/p><\/div>\n
