Letter dated 31 December 2008 from the Permanent Representative of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Pursuant to my letter to you dated 27 December 2008 (S\/2008\/815), and upon instructions from my Government and in accordance with rule 2 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, I have the honour to request an urgent meeting of the Council to discuss the criminal aggression by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and casualties among the innocent civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.<\/p><\/div>\n
