Letter dated 12 June 1990 from the Permanent Observer of Palestine<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I am instructed by the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which has the powers and responsibilities of the Provisional Government of Palestine, to bring the following to your immediate attention:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Israel, the occupying Power, remains persistent in its acts of violence and terror against the Palestinians living in the occupied Palestinian territory, sparing no one from its brutal aggression, be they little children or even the unborn.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>On 12 June 1990, the infamous Israeli military attacked Al Shati Camp in Gaza, bombarding its homes with poisonous tear gas, resulting in the injury (tear gas related) of 50 Palestinian children, who were admitted to Al-Shiffa hospital, and the miscarriage of two pregnant women, Naimeh Abu Shabab, 30 years old, of Khan Younis, who miscarried in her second month of pregnancy, and Mariam Abu Dheir, 28 years old, of Rafah, who miscarried in her third month of pregnancy (also tear gas related).\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>This situation should no longer be tolerated.  Israel's aggression and belligerent violations of human rights should be stopped by the international community immediately.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would arrange to have the text of this letter circulated as an official document of the General Assembly, under items 23, 35 and 78 of the preliminary list, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
