d&#39;affaires a.i. of the<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:center;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><u>Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:center;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><u>the Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government, and further to our previous letters concerning the repeated Israeli attacks against the territory and people of Lebanon, I have the honour to inform you as follows:<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>1.<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>On Tuesday, 26 December, at 2 a.m., Israeli troops supported by aircraft, attacked the regions of Marj Az-Zouhour, Kfar Mochki and Rachaya, in western Bekaa.&nbsp;&nbsp;This attack was preceded by a severe artillery bombardment and then by the landing of an airborne force estimated at approximately 100 men in the Nabi Saba field.&nbsp;&nbsp;The outcome of this attack was two dead and four injured among the civilian population, and housing and property were damaged.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>2.<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>The same day, at 4.30 p.m., six aircraft of the Israeli air force attacked Rmalleh locality, south of Saida, with bombs and 675-kg missiles, causing the destruction of a four-storey building and the death of eight persons, most of them workers in the health and social services, as well as 15 more or less severely injured.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government vigorously condemns these new Israeli attacks against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon, and draws the attention of the international community to Israel&#39;s crimes against the Lebanese population, which constitute a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and of international law, as well as defiance of the most elementary principles of human rights.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Lebanese Government reserves the right to request the Security Council to consider the dangerous situation created by the repeated Israeli attacks against Lebanon and its population at the present delicate stage in their history.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre;
